Select the Misc - Handling tab to View, Add and Edit information related to the hazardous material settings for an item.

Ammonium Nitrate & Ammonium Sulfate

Active Ingredients- Multiple active ingredients can be listed for chemicals. This prints on the blend sheet and delivery ticket.

Ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulfate Item IDs can be entered on the fertilizer tab of Installation Parameters. When ammonium nitrate is sold on a batch, the hazard threshold is ignored and a placard prints in the appropriate cases.

  • The batch contains only ammonium nitrate - print placard UN1942

  • The batch contains more than 70% (1400 lb a ton) of ammonium nitrate - print placard UN2067

  • The batch contains between more than 45% ammonium nitrate but less than 70% and it contains ammonium sulfate. When the two are added together they make up greater than 70% of the batch. Print placard UN2067.

In the state of California, a warning message must accompany any product that contains ingredients or chemicals known to cause cancer or birth defects as mandated in Proposition 65. Use the Prop 65 grid has been added in Item Detail to add warnings for the item.

In the Prop 65 Ingredient grid add a line using the Add icon. Enter up to 255 alpha-numeric characters for the ingredient and use the drop down list in the Type field to indicate Cancer or Birth Defect. Once added, the appropriate warning will print at the bottom of all needed 8.5 x 11" documentation.

Field Requirements

Posting- Select the posting requirement for field re-entry after a chemical is applied which prints on the blend sheet and delivery ticket. Select either

  • No - No posting is required.
  • Oral or Posting - Either an oral notification or posting is required.
  • Oral and Posting - Both an oral notification and posting is required.

Re-entry Hours- Number of hours a field cannot be accessed which prints on the blend sheet and delivery ticket. The most restrictive requirement prints on both.

Personal Protection Equipment- Select the required Personal Protection Equipment necessary when handling this item.

VFD Required- Active if Veterinary Feed Directives are required for Feed Items. Use the drop down list to select when a VFD will be required. See also Access Veterinary Feed Directives.
